Hi! I'm KK, and I'm from the United States.
I have been teaching English professionally since 2017. At that time I was fresh out of college, where I'd studied English and Linguistics. I knew I wanted to try teaching so I completed a TESOL course—as well as my first year of teaching—in Yangon, Myanmar. But during that first year of teaching, I realized there was far too much about ESL that I didn't know! So after an incredible year in beautiful Myanmar, I returned to the US to get my master's in TESOL.
I had the wonderful opportunity to teach language classes to adults at my university, but once I had completed the degree, I was ready to return to teaching children. I taught at two international schools in Bangkok, Thailand before venturing into the field of online tutoring.
I have spent over three years tutoring English learners one-on-one. My students' ages range from 5 to 60! Stepping out of the classroom and working closely with such a variety of individual learners has helped me better understand how to teach in a way that truly helps people learn.
